House inspection

We were invited at Ingvar’s one summer afternoon. We were standing in the garden of his house that was much bigger than ours. By now I knew that Shane was an alcoholic. After a few drinks she would disappear and, as I learned from Daniel a bit later, she would fall asleep in her own room.

“It’s not easy with her for Ingvar,” my husband had enlightened me already weeks ago.

“The two of them hate one another like the black plague. They only pretend to be the loving couple, to the outside. Ingvar would love to file for divorce. But then he would be bankrupt. She would suck the life out of him. So they have come to an agreement to live together in the house but to sleep in separate rooms. They have enough space.”

That I could see from the outside. The house was really impressive and I understood that some managers of computer companies earn quite a lot of money. Daniel was not one of them.

“Not yet”, he explained to me many times at the right moments. But he would like to have a career and then rake in the big moola.

I was standing in the garden with my drink in a shadowy spot and looked to the porch. There Bruce and Ingvar stood together and talked in subdued voices. My husband’s Swedish boss glanced at me from time to time. I looked at Bruce because he reminded me of Tom and I asked myself whatever had happened to him. Whether he had ever belonged to Horst and Igor’s clique? Surely, he had joined them by chance.

“Do you like him?” Daniel had stepped behind me and gave me a hug while he touched my breasts under my T-shirt. I shivered.

“Not here”, I whispered in his ear. “Whom should I like?”

“Ingvar. Do you like Ingvar? You’ve been looking at him with great interest for a while.”

“No, to be honest. Here you are the only one I like.” I turned around and gave him a kiss.

“But he really fancies you; he would like to go to bed with you”.

“For once, how do you know that, and then: why is he interested in me since he does know that I am married with you?”

“He keeps on asking me how you are. And he’s mentioned a few times to me how he envies me to have such a sexy wife. He pretty much raves about you.”

“Now, what does this have to do with us? That is his problem, isn’t it! Do you think I should try avoiding him from now on?”

“No, on the contrary. I want you to seduce him”, Daniel grinned at me.

“Come again?!” I was astounded and didn’t understand what was going down right now.

“Do you remember our talks that you and I had during the last few weeks?” I briefly thought about it then I believed to grasp what Daniel was talking about.

“Me telling you stories how Norman was in bed?” He wanted to know every detail and got so excited with my descriptions that he could hardly hold back.
